Brackenwood Junior School is a thriving and successful school with around 210 – 220 pupils on roll at any one time.

It is a two-form entry school, with children being accommodated from Year 3 to Year 6. The vast majority of our intake comes from Brackenwood Infants, who we work with regularly to ensure that the children have a smooth transition from school to school.

At Brackenwood Junior school, we are proud of the opportunities we offer to our children. We offer a varied curriculum, which includes for most year groups a Modern Foreign Language, gymnastics and multi-skills coaching from specialist sports coaches, and wider opportunities music tuition in Year 4.

We take Year 6 on a residential visit for 4 days, and work closely with our link secondary schools to offer curriculum opportunities. We offer a wide range of lunchtime and after-school clubs, including football, first aid, cookery, netball, Spanish, multi-sports, choir and orchestra. We also have a large number of peripatetic music teachers who teach a range of musical instruments during the school day.

The school is well on the way to becoming a fully extended school, which includes offering on-site before and after-school care, as well as a holiday club provided by Kids United.

We are proud of who we are and what we do for the children and families of the Bebington area. We continually work with parents to make further improvements to ensure that all children have the best opportunities to attain, achieve and enjoy their school life with us as much as they can.
